The magical sweet spot to visit Pigeon Forge is from the last week of April through the end of May. The reason for this is that school spring breaks last from March until around mid-April. There is also the opening of Dollywood in March and the massive Spring Rod Run in mid-April.

At single day prices, it would cost about $425 just to get into Dollywood. That price doesn't include parking, food, drinks, games and souvenirs. A day at Dollywood for my family could easily get into the $650 and up range.
The best days to visit Dollywood vary based on the time of year. If you're looking to see fewer crowds at the park in the peak summer months, try visiting on Wednesday or Thursday. In the fall and winter season, weekdays are best, and in the spring, Thursdays are typically less busy.
With so much to see and explore, give yourself enough time to soak it all up. Instead of just spending a day or two in town, extend your stay and stick around for three, five, or even seven days this summer.

You must travel to Gatlinburg proper to purchase package liquor.
In previous years, visitors who purchased tickets and entered Dollywood after 3 PM were alloewd to return the following day for free. This program has been discontinued and tickets purchased after 3 PM are not valid for reentry the following day. In order to return, you will have to purchase another ticket.

While almost everywhere at Dollywood accepts debit and credit cards, it's always best to have a little cash with you. If you plan to play any games, you'll be glad to have that cash with you!
Dollywood does not permit visitors to bring food or drinks into the park, although attendees are welcome to leave to eat elsewhere and return that same day. Otherwise, a variety of excellent options for dining and snacks are available onsite.

6 answers. Yes! You can bring a backpack into the park, they will search it at the gate way, some rides you can ride with a purse, most I do not suggest it, unless you use a fanny pack. They have lockers that you can use at some of the rides, but most have a shelf that you can let your things sit on during the ride.
Dollywood's total current land size is 160-acres. That's big. To put that into perspective, a full walk of the entire park, from gate to gate through each themed – land, tallies up to 1.5 miles.

There are more establishments designed to take your tourism dollars in Pigeon Forge than Gatlinburg. There are more restaurants, more mini golf, more dinner theaters and more museums. Plus there's Dollywood and Splash Country.
You'll soon find that with a whole week in Pigeon Forge, you'll have enough time to not only to explore the local attractions, but also venture to nearby cities, too. Use this Tennessee town as your home base for the first few days, and then cruise over to neighboring Knoxville, which is just around an hour northwest.
The best time to visit Gatlinburg is during the fall – specifically in September and October. During these months, beautiful fall foliage takes the stage, and temperatures are mild(highs between 65 and 80) which attracts travelers from all over.
